Elo’s Jonna Ryhänen on equity allocations and team collaboration


Elo’s chief investment officer Jonna Ryhänen talks about the potential impact of new regulation, diversification and why the US equity market remains attractive.

It has largely been a matter of continuity at the Finnish pension insurance company Elo since Jonna Ryhänen took on the role as chief investment officer about a year and a half ago. This is perhaps not very surprising considering her long tenure at the organisation.

Jonna Ryhänen notes, however, that the dynamic environment keeps the work interesting. “When you’re working in this field, the environment is changing all the time and the instruments and the regulation are changing. So if you’re interested in portfolio management, you don’t need to change your employer that often. And of course, in Finland there aren’t that many places to do portfolio management, so that’s another reason to stay as well,” Jonna Ryhänen says.
