News review, July 11


A review of some of the news that caught our attention during this week.

First, it’s hard to avoid the continued tariff headlines and the return of the global trade war coming from the US – or in the words of the Financial Times, “The return of ‘tariff man’: the week Donald Trump revived the global trade war”.
 
On the international scene, Jupiter has acquired CCLA Investment Management Limited. CCLA is the UK’s largest asset manager focusing on serving non-profit organisations. They manage over GBP 15 billion of assets on behalf of charitable institutions, religious organisations and local authorities.
 
Closer to home, we see that Goldman Sachs Asset Management is hiring for the Stockholm office.
 
Another news item that caught our eye was the editorial published by VC firm Andreessen Horowitz arguing for a shift from Delaware to Nevada. This will certainly be a topic that we will continue to discuss – in line with our governance roundtable, hosted with Saxena White.
