Jens Moos joins Henrik Bak, senior partner and head of Denmark and Finland at House of Reach, in Copenhagen where Johan Wahlman said the firm will have an office after summer. Henrik Bak said the firm’s latest hire was an important addition to its growing team in the Nordics. “As COO, he [Jens Moos] will establish a structure across House of Reach for us to continue improving the service to our clients and investors across the Nordic countries and segments. Furthermore, Jens will support our asset managers’ daily Danish business development,” he said in a statement.
Johan Wahlman said the firm has seen steady growth across both the alternative and niche space with managers offering ESG and sustainability focused strategies. “We have the position to be picky in who becomes our clients so we only onboard clients that we think are long term and relevant for the institutions,” he noted.
The firm has also been working on helping managers to identify most suitable fund structures in Luxembourg and Ireland that, according to Johan Wahlman, is still ongoing but with some changes to the original plans. He says the team is currently looking at different set ups in which they will be able to co-operate with other entities to be able to offer their clients a choice between Luxembourg and Ireland based on best fit for the client’s business strategy.
For asset managers outside Nordics looking to break into the market it is essential to understand what is needed to do that successfully. Johan Wahlman says: “The simple answer is ESG and sustainability integrated in the investment strategy, in addition to a relevant asset class and investment strategy.”
House of Reach has expanded its Copenhagen-based team with a new hire. The Swedish strategic advisor for fund companies, asset managers and insurers has hired Danske Bank’s asset management division’s former chief portfolio manager Jens Moos as its new chief operating officer. The new hire follows those of Thomas Röckert and Anders Malmborg last year. Johan Wahlman, managing partner and founder of the House of House told FBNW that the team is also in the final phase of negotiations of also adding a new member to its Stockholm team who will hopefully be able to join the firm before summer.
