Tell Media Group recently sat down with Kristoffer Birch, CIO of Danish LD Pensions, for a discussion on management challenges, the benefits of using external managers and finding the right asset allocation for a new macro environment.
Having taken on the role as CIO of LD Pensions in March last year, Kristoffer Birch says that he compares his current job with that of a football coach. “As a football coach you try to balance the long-term development of the team and of individual players, but you must also win the next game. It’s a similar balancing act for a CIO,” he says. He adds that he doesn’t have a specific coach in mind that he would consider a role model.
