Skandia in the process of reducing the number of external funds, Folksam has sold its stake in Danish Alka Forsikring and the question of how to charge for research under Mifid II. These are some of the stories in our Monday morning update.

<strong>Skandia in the process of reducing the number of funds on its open platform

Skandia, the Swedish life insurer, is in the process of reducing the number of external funds on its open platform from 800 to 250. The new offering will be in place in the first quarter of next year. “A lot of customers think that it is difficult to choose and this change will make it easier. Going forward, we will offer funds that we think are able to perform better than the average of similar funds,” says Frans Lindelöw, the CEO at Skandia. The number of external funds available on its insurance linked platform will remain at around 90.
